Secretary

  • I wanted to check on a list of events that are outside your office.

  • March 6th at George Fox Wind Ensemble

  • March 8th League Solo

  • March 11th, Century Cluster Concert

  • April 4th, Great Western Music Festival

  • April 8th League Band Festival

  • May 2nd State Ensemble at Mt. Hood

  • May 3rd state solo.

  • Next board meeting is on March 4th and then the parent meeting will be March 18th.

  • If Parents link their calendar to our calendar, they just need to unlink it.

  • Chomp starts March 20th.

Treasurer

  • I need a better way to get email addresses. So invoices go to the right people.

  • I don't mind creating the form. Can we put a form or something on the website that says, if you're new to band, please follow this Google form? Well, if we have the main Google form, we just need to update. Is there a preference for billing for this? How do you want us to set this up?

  • Websites for other bands in the Washington and California area. Most of them have something where the students register for fall, winter, groups in spring parade, although in our case we assume that they didn't fall, they do grade, but they fill out like all that, I mean in every season they fill it out. Then it goes to the board so that there's not this delay and less questions about participation.

  • It's all on the travel form. So should I add a question that says who's responsible for the bill?

  • Not having to go to 18 different documents to try to cross check and make sure this email's good.

  • We don't want to talk about pricing in a contract. All pricing and costing should be in the handbook. Then contracts can be who gets the bills, the contact for invoicing. You can add all those in, and then here's the agreement for signing up.

  • There isn’t anything that tells me who's supposed to be invoiced. I have a question that tells me which parent they live with, and there's an asterisk by their name.

  • Secretary and Treasurer will get together and try to figure out how to get the best information from parents.

  • Review of a new financial aid form. They are asking us to cover fees. Less than $500. We're covering the fees. They pay for the trip.

Uniforms and Apparel

  • The jackets. The jackets for last year, because I still need them.

  • There's a new machine in the school that might just eliminate him. It will print directly onto shirts, but not like a transfer and it looks great..

Fundraising

  • Candy Gram’s are going we've done about 50 boxes. I don't know if Madeline needs any more donations. No, she is good.  She's going to start coming in every day after school and dropping boxes off. So far we've made $320.

  • Jags and Jazz is coming along, we've already sold 10 tickets.

  • I am meeting with Susan and Gustavo next month and we'll go over finalizing all the meals and stuff like that.

  • Bandwidth has been finalized for May 17th.

  • Climbing the walls It just opened up in Hillsboro. They wanted to do a night where it would be all passes that are purchased, we get 50% of the proceeds, and then everybody that goes back, maybe we get 50% of their admission for that day. It would be for parents to get out and go, I'm climbing with your kids, something like that.

  • Axe throwing, it is super fun. A bunch of us band moms went last week, and it was a blast.

  • It's a good fundraiser, too. You also get 50%. And it's a good money maker.

  • Foodlandia (The food carts by Century) and they want to do a fundraiser with us.

 Volunteers

  • Volunteer hours: Those have gone out. Do the hours need to be done during the Season? Fall hours (16) need to be done during Fall season. Winter hours (10) need to be done in Winter season.

  • Prop building is happening during practice times, Monday, Wednesday of this week. Monday next week. They're working on the butcher blocks. I know that Derek checked in with them for the rolling table, the fabric, the apron, the corner door. I think it's going to be like this 80-inch opening that they need to hide people behind in the corner. We paid for panels. The reason I'm going through some of the details of props Is when I make the sign up parents know what they are doing.

  • Guard competition on Saturday. We need a driver to pull the trailer to Tigard.

  • Color guard food budget is at $800 for the season, Percussion is at $500. Percussion is much bigger. Captain Head makes the budget.

  • They are taking the food trailer to San Diego. George Cartales is driving the trailer.

  • Derek can drive the district truck. Plus, you're already going to have the big semi truck.

  • There's still food things, trying to make sure we get all the signups between the different groups.

  • We could ask families to donate food or come in and help support a meal with their time but first we go to the caption to see how much money their budget has to put in there.

  • When we have parents come next week, just in case they don't already know when they come into the Century Office as a volunteer, you now get escorted through the building to where you are going. If you have a background check, they give you an authorized visitor badge.

Jeff Snively

The board, everybody needs to decide if they're rerunning or what's going on and then nominations are going to be April 8th and then we vote May 13th.

Kristin Keezel

  • I've been looking at our travel for 2026. We were having the thought of going to DC for the national celebration of the 250th celebration of America, Birthday Parade. There have been some concerns from both parents and students that it might not be safe.

  • I've already got a price point. The details are there and done. On the flip side of it, do we want to go celebrate a country that maybe not everybody is proud of right now? It would be nice to make a decision so that it is less of a hardship on families. If we can say in March, here we go, here's where we're going, here's the price, here's the payment scale, the payments will be significantly lower because you would have a year or so to pay.

  • I looked into Ireland as an alternative. It's about $4,000.

  • Other alternatives. Mardi Gras, Nashville, Disney Orlando, Canada, New York
