All About Hops Concessions
What even is the Hops??
The Hillsboro Hops organization will pay not-for-profit programs an hourly plus tips wage to work their concessions stands during baseball games and other events.
The worker receives $12/hr plus tips for working a shift. This money goes directly into your student’s band account to pay whatever fees you choose (fair shares, costumes, trips, show shirts). Once the money has been earned, it must stay within the band account and cannot be paid out - it must be used towards band associated fees.
What does working a shift look like?
We are working concessions during the Hops Baseball games. During the shift, your main priority is serving customers. If you are a cashier, you will take orders and if you are a runner, you will fulfill orders. You will also need to help clean and count the inventory. The leads will help delegate what you can help with.
Shifts are approximately 5 hours long. The start time is definite. We set everything up before the game starts. Most games last 2.5 hours, and we’ll clean the last half hour of the game. HOWEVER, sometimes the game is shorter or longer than expected.
You will get a 15 minute break during the shift - when the lines slow down, usually 5th inning or so. During your break you can get a free meal and drink.
Once you get your food, you can sit on a bench and recharge your batteries. *This is the only time you can use your phone during your shift.
Runner or Cashier?
Runner - 16+, Non-OLCC
- These are usually students, but adults can do this too. Runners prepare the food at Hot Dog Nation like hot dogs, pretzels and nachos.
