Thank you to everyone. You're getting your kids to school. Hopefully they're staying healthy as best as possible. And all the different things you've all done, props, competitions, chaperoning, meals, uniforms, can drives, all the different things.
Pat yourself on the back. I was trying to ping out some of the things like more. The hours that I have up to date as of yesterday, I know there were two of you entered some data today.
We are at 4,175.67 volunteer hours this school year. 56 families have completed their volunteer hours.
If you're a senior and you still need more hours to complete, do it before May 1.

VP Fundraising - Heather Buxton
We are at $47,500 raised this year. Our goal is $62,400. We have just $14,861 left to go. That is really good for this time of year.
Our goal next year is going to be a lot higher than that. If we can get a jump on that, that'd be awesome.
Last month’s can drive brought in $6,300. To give you an idea, on average, we are between $18,000 to $23,000 in cans a year. We're at $26,000 already this year.
We opted to not do a can drive in April , but we will pick back up and we'll do them in May, June, July, August.
The Pie Guy, he's had pies at the Hillsboro Farmers Markets for years, and they are really good. It's all his cream pies. They are the five-inch size. Order those soon. Picking up is going to be April 2nd.
Coming up soon, Al’s hanging baskets. March 24th through April 16th. Pickup will be 5/4 and 5/5.
Bandwidth is a 5K run. April 25th.This is our second one that we've done. It is over in South Hillsboro. It's only $30 and you get a bunch of stuff. We've got sponsors and there'll be swag at the end. Shake Shack is going to be our sponsor. They'll have drinks and stuff at the end, but then they're going to give a donation to our school for whatever you eat that day.
Now is the time for me to recruit somebody to take on fireworks.
So we do a fireworks stand every year. It's our second biggest fundraiser. It's not complicated. It's super easy. Let me know if you are interested. Send me an email at fundraising@centuryband.org.
May 29th, that's Louie Louie. That's another one of our big fundraisers that we'll do here at the stadium. One More Time Around Band will be there.
May 9 th is the Jags and Jazz Auction. 5:30pm - 9 pm. Every Sunday, we meet at Big River Coffee from 10 to noon. So if you want to come hang out with us and help us reach out to more businesses, if you want to drop off a donation, if you have any questions, or you just want to see us, we're there. 12:39 Section baskets will be due on April 3rd.
April 20th at 4pm. This event is mandatory. Wheels on the bus go round and round. Every year we do a theme. The buses are going to cost a lot of money. We're going to have fun. This community loves us. And so since we're doing that, we're going to do pie and pizza because it's round like bus wheels.

I'm going to be sending out a reminder. We need to fill the April with your availabilities by this weekend. So I'm going to send out a reminder with the link.If you have any questions, email me, text me. This is an excellent fundraiser. You earn about $100 to $125 per night. And that was with the small stadium. It could go way up with twice as many people in the new stadium. And that's per person per night. So you can pay for your fees with just a little bit of elbow grease. It's not the easiest thing, but it's not the hardest thing. And it's fun, we make it fun. Students have to be 16 to work.
Treasurer - Jason Keezel and Tom Thaxton
End of the year, senior balances are being sent to the Century Bookkeeper. I will send out another notice via Patty.
Ensure your student has enough points to waive fair share number four that was invoiced in the fall. One to four points, no reduction. Five to nine points, it's reduced by 50%. Ten or more points, it's reduced by 100%. Points are posted in the band room on the door.
Volunteer hours, make sure you get those entered to Christina. The Google form gets sent out every time Christina sends a message.
Pie guy credits will be added two to three weeks after the sale has closed. Same applies to hanging baskets.
If you have additional funds and if you don't tell me what you want done with it, it goes to the scholarship fund. Any money in that credit account cannot go with the student at the end of the year.
President - Christina Saribay
Baseball caps are really cool. Why don't we have one of our past alumni, Marcus Harvey, who's the founder of Portland Gear, design us a hat? No other high school will have something as cool as that. What's really cool about Portland Gear is that it's a P. And if you look at the P on the inside of it, it's the state of Oregon. They are making these right now. They are in production. The cost will be $25, and they need to keep them. If parents would like to purchase one, we've got the opportunity for you guys to do that too, for $25. No one else in the world will have anything like this. It's just our high school. We will invoice the cost.
Mr. Dunlop
I traveled with the Color Guard this last weekend, and it was a real pleasure. They're great, behaved young adults. They also hosted Liberty, and I didn't hear a single complaint about letting Liberty ride on our bus, which just meant a little bit crowded, and they just were great, and they were great to them at the gym that we stayed at. They did an amazing job at the competition. If you haven't seen them yet, you need to. They're quite good. Both teams.
April 3rd is the Friends and Family show. To see one last time both Guards and both Drumlines. Both of our drumlines are also doing really well. Also, super excited that we have 90 kids involved in the winter ones, which that's phenomenal. That's the most we've ever had in the winter season in both drumlines and both color guards. And I believe that all kids will find a group in high school. All kids in high school will find a group to hang out with. That's just how they're wired. And that's a necessary piece of that evolution, I think. The real question is, you know, if it's a positive group or a negative group, because they can be equally as powerful, I think, in particularly adolescents. And it's a great positive. Almost too nice sometimes because I get so many, band app things, you know. But they support each other very well, and it's great. And I was super pleased to be there, not only because they performed really well, but just mostly because they just were really good people to each other.
Parade Camp will be May 1st and 2nd. That will be at Camp Rilea at the beach, which is the military camp, which is where we went last year. We thought about doing it here, but it wouldn’t be as much fun. And it's nice to get away. The goals of the camp are to bring in as many eighth graders as we can to get them started, to transition all our leadership positions so we have them audition for section leader, audition for drum major, so to bring in our new leadership group. It's new students, leadership opportunities, and have some fun that way. And so that is May 1st and May 2nd. I've already gotten RSVPs from eighth graders, so I know we're going to add some new people in that.
Next year is a winter group trip year. So that means that the winter guard will take a trip, and the winter drum line will take a trip, and the jazz band will take a trip. Is that it? That's it. And then at the end of the year, the marching band, usually we try to take a parade that's do a parade that's somewhere. So the plan next year is to take the Winter Guard to Dayton, Ohio, which is the World Championships, and to take the winter percussion to Southern California, where there's a huge WGI event there with a lot of world-class groups. The Jazz band is going to audition for New York again, for the Ellington. They take 15 groups from the whole world. So if we don't make that, which doesn't mean we're not going to go for it, and Greg McKelvey has taken two groups. And if you haven't heard the jazz band this year, they are smoking good. Like, you need to come to the auction because we probably have 10 songs you will never hear anywhere else. And they are great. They all take them to that. If we have a backup, which would be St. Louis, where there's a big Basie competition, that we have made that one before. We've never gone, but we have gone through the audition process.
We want to take the marching band to Victoria again. So a couple things that means, a passport. So I'd like to recommend that you think about the passport this summer and get that all taken care of. That trip will not be until May, but it's just good to get it done and out of the way. But that will be a passport trip. And so that's next year's plan.
So if you're looking at finances and some of these things, particularly, I think, the hops, then that's a great way to help pay for that. And then the next year is a big trip year, and we'd like to already plant that seed and get people started on it. Our thought right now is, obviously, we're bringing this to you so we can get a thumbs up or a thumbs down because you didn't like my last trip and you vetoed me and I'm still kind of bitter about that, but that's all right. We want to take the band to Ireland and do the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin. I tell you now because it takes two years to get into that parade. We're talking about 2028. That is the plan, unless you tell me as a group, that you do not want to do that, which is what happened to me last time. And I'm okay with that. So that you can start planning now.
