Ron Etherton has donated a new generator for the food team, for the band.
Any of you that work with the food team or with the band and props and use that particular generator, I thought it would be fair to share at least a couple of notes.
There is a clear tote that goes with it. With a manual he gave those of us at the food team.
A quick start guide. We're goning to make sure there's additional copies that go with our generator so we take good care of it. It's a dual fuel (it uses propane and it uses premium fuel) If you're ever the gas can runner you know you will have to get premium fuel for this generator. Do not use diesel in it and do not put the cheap stuff that's what we need to know and if you're ever operating it.
It's important that you have all of your equipment turned off and unplugged when you turn it off or on. These are some basic things that help extend the life of our equipment.
I have to say a huge, huge, huge thank you. Because I know all of you have been receiving many emails, and messages, and connections, and sign-up geniuses, and stuff about band and color guard.
And want to say thank you from trip chaperones, drivers, prop crew, food team, loaders, unloaders, uniforms, costumes, donations, and families for sending your students packed and prepared to be ready. That includes all the uniforms, and their snacks, and their hair done, and all the different things.
It takes a tremendous team to make the competitions, and assemblies, the halftime performances, and everything possible. You need to know, we can't do it without every single one of you that are here, and the army of people that are not here as well.
I have 129 individuals documented that are yeses that can volunteer. That's roughly half of our group.
Volunteer hours. collected there are 42 families who have submitted their hours.
If you're over 16 hours, you will have that fair share portion removed for your volunteer hours.
Any guesses how many hours to the point for the fun of it, 2,736.
Upcoming things and reminders: If you had a canopy I sent you emails if we borrowed yours for the showcase and I'm sorry for the one that we discovered broken I'll have a conversation with you that it will be replaced or reimbursed.
Families and students, please check the lost and found for items There are things that pile up in particular We tend to lose shoes and sweatshirts. Silver markers work great on black sweatshirts. Most of the lost and found has been moved to the school lost and found.
November 13th, tomorrow is chomp.
November 15th, Saturday we have a bottle and can drive. We have four drivers so far, and students are signing up, and I know some of you just show up. This is one of our biggest fundraisers, at this point this year we have brought in over $14,751.
It's also uniform cleaning time. This is a great at-home task. We are cleaning the teal jackets and the black bibbers.
You have to have a front loading machine or non-agitator. Instructions are given.
There's also a task with the black jackets of removing the blue / gold.
We might have space for at least one more person to help remove the magnets and the stitching very carefully.
There's also a turkey thon for Thanksgiving. That would be an early wake up, go help them with the turkey thon in Tigard at Cook Park.
That's a fundraising point for those students. 6.30 AM to 10.30 AM. It's on Thanksgiving.
The Winter Concert is Tuesday, December 16 at 7pm.
I would encourage you getting here early because that's usually a very full concert.
Friday, December 19 is the all night party. We do need volunteers for all the shifts, including the middle of the night ones.
Lisa can't be here tonight, she is looking for a uniform coordinator for next year. If you've been helping with uniforms or that is in of interest to you. That will be an open position on the board for next school year.
The formal wear order is placed it's here and it will get distributed soon. I want to let you know you have to hem and I'm recommending a seamstress on 47th and Baseline and it was $14 and I got it back same day.
A reminder for concert attire it's the black pants, black shoes, black socks that goes with the white top or a black dress.
For symphonic and wind ensemble the guys wear the tuxedo with the jacket with their own pants that they bring in and the girls the dress or the tuxedo.

Hi, everyone. I'm your resident pie pusher for this year. Great fundraiser, I mean this is my first year doing it, we have a little over 2.8 thousand in profits. That is split 20% to the band, 80% to students account.
Pie pick up is Friday, they're frozen, they'll need to stay frozen. Be sure you're here between 3.30 and 5.30 to get them.
Cheesecakes were delayed by Willamette Valley, but they'll be here in December
VP Fundraising - Heather Buxton
We're doing really well on fundraising. We're already at more than 32,000.
11-20, Panda Express at the Esplanade. That's all day.
12-9, Burgerville at the Hillsboro Airport.
12/21 is Pizza Schmizza at the Hillsboro airport.
To repeat can drives 11-15, 12-6, 1-10.
We still need some help with picking up cans. If you have availability please email fundraising@centuryband.org. You do NOT need HSD background check to pick up cans.
If you know of any businesses that would be willing to donate their cans, please send an email to Fundraising or cans4bands@centuryband.org and we will get that worked out.
Our Printify shop is still up and running. We're adding more stuff and trying to get some stuff on there for Christmas.
I still need someone for fireworks.
4/25 is our bandwidth run,
5/9 in our auction. The theme is Havana Nights. I'll have to save the date for that soon.
We're working on another fundraiser that we're hoping to start soon. It's going to be homemade frozen egg rolls and tamales sale. It's going to work like pie sales. You will get a package of freezer tamales or egg rolls. They'll be packaged with all the directions on how to cook them.
Kristin Keezel - Orlando Trip
I'll send out a personal email if you are a couple months behind on payments. We need to have a commitment, whether you're gonna be able to catch up and pay those or whether you need to drop out of the trip.
We get our airline tickets officially bought in about three weeks. If we buy you a ticket, and then you back out later you will still be responsible for that ticket price.
If you are behind, please make sure that you're contacting World Strides if it's the holiday season and you need like a month to defer a payment, you need to call their customer service and just say, hey, I needed to defer a payment.
We are really close to starting to gather things like who's going on flight A, who's going on flight B.
Chaperones, do you want a room to yourself or who would you like to room with?
A couple chaperones have asked about rooming with their own student. Those are things that I need to know. The only thing would be is that your student then get charged as a double occupancy room instead of a quad.
I need to know that information.
There are still four (4) spots available.
If you have a student that didn’t sign up and would still like to try to add them you need to do that now before we purchase the airline tickets.
If your child is 18, or if you're an adult going, you need to make sure that you have a valid passport or real ID and if you turn 18 on the trip, which some of the students will, they need to have a real ID or a passport.

We were projected net about $13,000 for Showcase.
We split that up between Showcase which then is about 11,000, and the other we got from our championships.
The swag was a big hit. We're already talking about the swag for next year. I cannot believe we sold as many of those umbrella hats as we did.
The 50-50 raffle was a hit. That's the big news of the net.
Pie sales credits, will go on after we get the cheesecake order and all that stuff gets tallied. I'll put that on your spreadsheets. Showcase ad sales, I have all that information. I just haven't gotten to it yet.

Just a couple things, all of this is about giving your kids as many opportunities with really talented people who can work with them. Tonight there are 48 percussionists trying out for winter groups.
There are 33 color guard down in the gym trying out for the winter teams. We had 97 students came to the masquerade ball.
The jazz fans are preparing for the Skyview Jazz Festival. They're both sounding great, both jazz fans are being involved in that.
The Silver Band is first at 12.30.
and the 1 O’clock Jazz Band is on at 5.30. I'll send all that out. We'll have a bus.
The district, as they look at legislative stuff, is looking at charging for buses.
I was very excited that so many students want to keep going.
We have great staff, and so I think that's great.
What can you do to help your student get to the next level?
Private lessons are the best. There's nothing better than private lessons one on one with a professional. Some of our staff teach private lessons, like Derek, our percussion caption teaches private lessons.
Some of our color guard staff teach private lessons. Most of our CHOMPS staff teaches private lessons. And if that doesn't work, come ask me and I'll give you some other teachers.
We just had a percussion camp here Saturday, and there were 41 students there. I think 10 of them were ours, and the other 31 were from all over the state.
There's another one, the 22nd, that's going to be here. All those kinds of opportunities are great.
This year we will be in the Starlight Parade. I think it's already on the calendar. We will have 3 rehearsals prior to that.
Rose Festival Parade should fall May 30.
